From 9 to 11 February 2026, a training on AI journalism will take place in Almaty for independent journalists and bloggers from Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. The training is organized within the framework of the AGILE — Advancing Global Innovation and Learning Effectively project, supported by the European Union, and aims to strengthen the resilience of independent media.
Participants will learn ethical and safe use of AI tools, fact‑checking methods, data work, and will develop their own media project. At the end of the program, 13 participants will receive grants of €3,000 each to implement their stories.
Participation is free of charge; accommodation and transportation for participants from other cities are covered. The application deadline is 6 January 2026, and the selection results will be announced by 13 January. You can submit your application here.
AGILE is an international program aimed at strengthening independent media and supporting civil society. The project is implemented in 10 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, launched in December 2024, and is designed for four years. Its budget is €10.5 million. The initiative is funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by Internews Europe.
