Media ethics and self-regulation issues of mass media in the country were discussed in Khujand

 
EthicsNANSMIT discussed the various aspects of media ethics and issues of self-regulation of mass media with the participation of journalists, bloggers and student of the upper courses of Journalism Faculty of State Khujand University in Khujand on October 28, 2022.


The participants of the training got enlightened of the state of compliance with ethical standards in the information space of Tajikistan, the essence of media ethics and media self-regulation, types of ethical code and learned about forms of self-regulation such as Media Council, the Media Ombudsman institution, and the Media Compliance system.

With the help of an expert on media issues Kasim Bekmukhammedov and the head of National Association of Independent Mass Media in Tajikistan Nuriddin Karshiboev, in practical training the participants discussed the general and specific aspects of ethical codes, as well as various ways of self-regulation and made recommendations for strengthening media ethics.

With the support of the Internews Office in Tajikistan "Media ethics and media self-regulation issues in Tajikistan" training was organized by the National Association of Independent Mass Media of Tajikistan (NANSMIT) as a part of the project "Strengthening the capacity of NANSMIT through the development of "Road Map" for the development of association, as well as the promotion of media ethics and mechanisms of self-regulation in the media."
